Fat loss is 80% nutrition and 20% working out....
I have had A LOT of trouble with the 80% for years now. The 20% working out has obviously been filled with races and time at the gym, but I was still having trouble with the nutrition aspect. I am looking at an old Membership Book from my Weight Watchers At Work days. This program is where my weight loss journey began after steadily gaining weight throughout my seven years of undergrad and grad school. I started in January 2008 at over 200 pounds. I steadily lost weight through August when the program ended. I was flying high at that point. I was so excited about the weight loss and I thought I could easily continue the weight loss on my own. I thought I was well on my way to reaching my goal weight and Lifetime Membership through Weight Watchers. Yet here I am in 2014 at the same weight I ended at in August 2008, despite the fact that I started running in 2009. It is beyond frustrating. You would think that if I could train for a marathon I could train myself to eat healthier. Overall I do eat healthier, but I am far from consistent. I even joined a weight loss challenge through Fleet Feet thinking that being able to win my entry fee back by losing weight would motivate me. So far my weight has fluctuated in the first month, but I finally made it into the 5k club (weight loss of 3.1 pounds) this weekend. Because I was doing so well with Weight Watchers back in 2008, I decided to go to a meeting tomorrow over lunch to check it out again. Some people need a group therapy session to help their weight loss, and maybe I am one of those people. We shall see....
